PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microscope external manipulation unit having excellent installation stability and high manipulability. SOLUTION: The microscope external manipulation unit used separately from the focusing handle of a microscope is constituted of a main body part 3 having an external focusing handle 1 to control the focusing action of the microscope and a supporting base 5 to support the main body part 3 by joining with the main body part 3, and the main body part 3 has a first joining part 13 to join with the supporting base 5 at the time of arranging the external focusing handle 1 on the right side and a second joining part 15 to join with the supporting base 5 at the time of arranging the external focusing handle 1 on the left side at a position opposed to the center axis of the external focusing handle 1 and also has a transmission part 9 to transmit a control signal from the external focusing handle 1 to the microscope at a position different from the first joining part 13 and the second joining part 15.
