PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a information processor which can be easily restored without increasing the product cost even in the case of a failure in updating a control program. SOLUTION: The information processor is controlled by the control program and is provided with; a storage medium read part wherein loading and unloading of a storage medium are controlled by the control program; a program data storage part wherein program data corresponding to the control program is stored; and a program state judgement part which judges the validity of program data stored in the program data storage part before starting the control program. Furthermore, the information processor is provided with a storage medium read control part which switches the storage medium read part to such a second state that a user can physically load the storage medium, in the case that the program state judgement part judges that program data is not valid and the storage medium read part is in such a first state that the user cannot physically load the storage medium.
