PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good toner fixed image by performing exact temperature detection of a heat roller by preventing the adhesion of toner etc., to a temperature sensor for detecting the surface temperature of the heat roller and to facilitate maintenance by improving durability. SOLUTION: A temperature detecting means is comprised of a temperature detecting element for detecting the surface temperature of the heat roller and a supporting member for supporting the temperature detecting element. The temperature detecting element is arranged by being slightly shifted nearer to the upstream side in the rotating direction of the heat roller than the contact position where the supporting member abuts on the circumferential surface of the heat roller when the temperature detecting means is brought into contact with the circumferential surface of the heat roller. Most adequately, the shifting of the temperature detecting element to the upstream side in the rotating direction of the roller is made within 1.0 mm. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
