PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for molding a paper container or cup, for simply and easily collapsing and protecting the inside paper end surface in the mutually pasted part of the paper sheet of the paper container or cup at the time of molding of the paper container or cup to prevent air bubbles or the like from penetrating into content from the inside paper end surface. SOLUTION: In molding the paper container or cup formed from the paper sheet (30) obtained by providing a resin layer comprising polyethylene or the like to the inner surface or inner and outer surfaces of paper being a base material, the paper sheet is rolled into a cylindrical shape and both ends of the paper sheet are overlapped with each other to be bonded under heating and pressure. A projection (15a) is provided to a part of a jig used in this heating/contact bonding process so as to be made parallel to the end surface of the paper sheet at the overlapped part of the paper sheet and the end surface of the inside paper (11a) of the paper sheet is pressed and collapsed by the projection at the time of heating/contact bonding to protect the end surface of the paper sheet.
