Disclosed is a dielectric liquid composition based on a mixture of natural triglycerides and fatty acid esters of 2-ethyl-1-hexanol, said fatty acids being generally made from a vegetable oil, wherein: (i) the fatty acids provided in the combined glycerol esters (triglycerides) and 2-ethyl-1-hexanol esters of the mixture contain at least 70 percent by weight of C18-monounsaturated fatty acids such as oleic acid, 10 to 20 percent of C18-polyunsaturated fatty acids such as linoleic acid and/or linolenic acid, and less than 10 percent of fatty acids comprising a hydrocarbonated chain that includes a number of carbon atoms that is different from 18, the percentages being relative to the total weight of fatty acids in the esters; and (ii) the triglycerides provided in the mixture correspond to 25 to 80 percent of the total weight of the mixture, the fatty acid esters other than the triglycerides provided in said composition, in general, essentially representing 2-ethyl-1-hexanol monoesters.
