FOOD BAG RELEASE VALVE

A release valve (10) for a food bag (12) comprises a vent layer (30), a cover layer (32) positioned thereover, and an adhesive area (50) for attachment of the vent layer (30) to the bag's front panel (14). An area (56) is defined between the vent layer (30) and the cover layer (32), this area (56) includes passageways (44) through which the expected fluid passes to exit the valve (10). Anti-stick means are provided for preventing the adhesive (50) from causing the cover layer (32) to stick to the vent layer (30) in the area (56) and thereby block the passageways (44).
