The invention relates to a control release bearing consisting of bearing means (14) comprising bearing elements (26) which are in contact with two opposing raceways, namely one rotating raceway (CR) and one raceway which is fixed in rotation (CF). According to the invention, the bearing means (14) are housed in an essentially-circular casing (16) which is defined by two essentially-coaxial parts, namely one rotating part (18) and one part which is fixed in rotation (20). Sealing means (22, 24) are disposed between the aforementioned parts and are intended to retain lubricant contained in the casing (16). Moreover, said sealing means (22, 24) are placed in a geometric half-space (F) which is defined by a plane (P) that is essentially perpendicular to an axis of revolution (X) of the casing (16). The above-mentioned non-rotating raceway (CF) extends outside the half-space (F) or coincides with the plane (P) defining said space (F). |
