SOLUTION: In a control device for an internal combustion engine, when fuel F is injected to an intake port 4 and an intake valve 6 is opened, at least a part of the fuel F is flowed into a cylinder. After a piston 2 passes through the bottom dead center, the intake valve is closed so that fuel is controlled to be injected when the piston is in the vicinity of the bottom dead center. The fuel flowed in the cylinder remains in the vicinity of the injection plug 9 by blow-back airflow FB to the intake, thereby forming the rich fuel-air mixture around the ignition plug. At this time, the fuel is injected in the vicinity of the bottom dead center in which the intake flow rate is slow, which leads to difficulty of mixing with the intake air.
