PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cornice formation preventing apparatus manufactured corresponding to the amount of snow cover, at low cost with standardized parts by using a snow blow-off function, lightweight with small installation area and easily installed. SOLUTION: In a building B having a hanging end face F with a possibility of cornice formation, blade members 2 inclined outward and upward are held parallel in a plurality of stages between a pair of vertical edge members 1 fixed substantially along the hanging end face. Cornice formation is thereby prevented using a snow blow-off effect, and the optimum apparatus corresponding to various amounts of snow cover can be installed by setting the height of the vertical edge members and the number of stages of the blade members without increasing the depth of the apparatus.
