PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coin receiving device for reliably detecting throwing-in when a small amount of coins are thrown into a coin supply or when a coin is rejected and thrown-in again to the coin supply, and also for reliably performing identification again. SOLUTION: A driving control means 34 intermittently drives the coin supply 45 when a money receiving operation start signal is inputted, and continuously drives the part 45 when the coin is detected by a thrown-in coin detecting means 38 or a coin identification counting part 39 during intermittent driving. The coin supply 45 is intermittently driven when a prescribed time elapses in a state where the thrown-in coin detecting means 38 and the coin identification counting part 39 do not detect the coin during the continuous driving of the coin supply 45, and also the part 45 is continuously driven again when the detecting means 38 or the counting part 39 detects the coin during the intermittent driving.
