PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality electrophotographic image receiving sheet which provides good image quality and is excellent in printer running property and to provide an image forming method using the electrophotographic image receiving sheet. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic image receiving sheet is provided which has a support and at least one layer of toner receiving layer on the support, wherein the support is provided with a polyolephin resin layer on both sides of base paper, the base paper contains at least one of alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt in an amount of >0.5 g/m<SP>2</SP>and water quantity in the base paper in the electrophotographic image receiving sheet is≥6.5%. It is preferable that the base paper be in a state containing 0.5 to 2 g/m<SP>2</SP>of water soluble high polymer compound. The method uses the electrophotographic image receiving sheet.
