PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type display device without causing blurring of a projected image due to the heat of a reflection type light valve. SOLUTION: The reflection type light valve, a polarizing beam splitter and a cross dichroic prism are mounted on a mount member equipped with a fin member for cooling, and the mount member is connected to a projection lens holding member for holding a projection lens. By integrating and cooling the reflection type light valve, the polarizing beam splitter, the cross dichroic prism and the projection lens, deformation caused by the heat is prevented and a distance from the reflection type light valve to the projection lens is prevented from being changed.
