PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized torque sensor with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This torque sensor comprises a torque input shaft, a torque output shaft, and an elastic member. Between the torque input shaft and the torque output shaft, a first detecting member having a plane orthogonal to the axial direction and composed of a first magnetic body and a first nonmagnetic body is provided at the torque output shaft-side end of the torque input shaft, and a second detecting member having a plane orthogonal to the axial direction and composed of a second magnetic body and a second nonmagnetic body is provided at the torque input shaft-side end of the torque output shaft, whereby the first nonmagnetic body, the first magnetic body, the second magnetic body, the second nonmagnetic body and the torque output shaft are axially arranged in order from the torque input shaft side. Magnetic sensors are provided on both sides of the first and second detecting members. The surface areas of the first and second magnetic bodies are set larger than the surface areas of the first and second nonmagnetic bodies, and a torque is detected based on values outputted from the magnetic sensors.
