PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine that does not occupy time and a line much which is required for transmission of an original. SOLUTION: The image transmitting apparatus using a communication line to transmit an image is provided with: an interruption instruction means 71 for a user to instruct interruption of transmission of image data; an interruption means 75 for interrupting the transmission of the image data in response to the interruption instruction from the interruption instruction means 71; an interruption position storage means 74 for storing interruption position specifying information to specify a transmission interruption position of the image data whose transmission is interrupted by the interruption instruction; and a restart means 75 for restarting the transmission of untransmitted parts of the image data on the basis of the interruption position specifying information stored in the interruption position storage means 74.
