摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a foreign matter by detecting air bubbles with high precision and high reliability and to also realize cost reduction and space saving, in a method for detecting the foreign matter in the liquid within a container and an apparatus therefor. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid is continuously imaged under transmitted illumination light to be stored in an imaging memory process (S1) and two differential images, wherein backgrounds are removed, are formed in a differential image extrating process (S2). Edge images are formed from the respective differential images in an edge pixel extrating process (S3) and the edge pixels in the edge images are grouped to extract individual floating matter differential images in a floating matter differential image extracting process (S4). An air bubble candidate is selected from the floating matter differential images in an air bubble candidate judge process (S5) and the air bubble candidate appearing at the movement estimate position of the differential images is set as air bubbles in an air bubble judge process (S6). The individual floating matter differential images, from which the floating matter differential images set as air bubbles are removed, are set as foreign matter in a foreign matter detecting process (S7). Air bubbles are detected surely on the basis of the characteristics and differential processing of an air bubble image under simple transmitted illumination light to precisely detect a foreign matter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
