PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for protecting components of an application-specific-integrated-circuit assembly from corrosion. SOLUTION: The application specific integrated circuit (ASIC) assembly, in which ASIC is mounted on a circuit board, has a loading plate of which the size and the profile are determined such that it presses on the ASIC, and has a protection sheath on the loading plate that protects the plate from corrosion.
