PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a superior overcurrent protection circuit that can prevent the risk of explosion or the like by cutting off a current by instantaneously being operated before the occurrence of a fire even if a load is short-circuited, and surely protect a battery pack. SOLUTION: The overcurrent protection circuit comprises an overload detection means that outputs an overload signal when an overcurrent flows to the load and a load voltage applied to the load is not higher than a prescribed value, and a current control means that controls the current flowing to the load when it has received the overload signal. The overcurrent protection circuit also comprises a time-shortening means that shortens the time until the current flowing to the load is controlled by the operation of the current control means, after the overload current has flowed. As the time-shortening means, there is provided a differentiation circuit that detects the variation of the load voltage in a short time by differentiating the load voltage. Based on the variation of the load voltage, the time until the current flowing to the load is controlled by the operation of the current control means after the overload current has flowed, is shortened.
