摘要 PURPOSE:To promote effectiveness of an engine brake by setting a pressure of oil, when an engine brake friction engaging device is engaged, to a value corresponding to a car speed, in the point of time when a speed change is started, despite a change of a car speed after the speed change is started. CONSTITUTION:A pressure of oil, when an engine brake friction engaging device is engaged, is basically changed in accordance with a car speed, but after a speed change is started, setting an engaging pressure in a follow-up manner to a change of the car speed is suspended. That is, the engaging pressure is set by an engaging pressure setting means being based on the car speed detected by a car speed detecting means in the point of speed change starting time specified by a specific means. The engaging pressure of the engine brake friction engaging device is held to a value, which depends on the car speed in the point of speed change starting time, before completion of a speed change, by a pressure governing means. In this way, taking too much time before starting good effectiveness of an engine brake due to delayed completion of a speed change and/or deteriorated durability of the friction engaging device can be prevented.
