PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for manufacturing hydrogen fluoride comprising: a first reaction stage where fluorite and sulfuric acid are heated to generate hydrogen fluoride; and a second reaction stage where a reaction mixture obtained in the first reaction stage is heated to further generate hydrogen fluoride. SOLUTION: Fluorite (CaF<SB>2</SB>) and sulfuric acid (H<SB>2</SB>SO<SB>4</SB>) are separately heated by preheaters 1 and 3, respectively. As the prestage of the first reaction stage, reaction is caused at about 150 to 300°C in a prestage reactor 5. As the poststage of the first reaction stage, the reaction mixture is heated in a poststage reactor 7, and is reacted at about 100 to 150°C. The reaction mixture obtained thereby is heated to about 300°C and is further reacted in a rotary kiln 9 as the second reaction stage, so that hydrogen fluoride is obtained.
