In accordance with an operating mode and processor disposing ranking, a routine corresponding to the operating mode is carried out for each processor, so that inputted received data are processed. For example, a B-mode processing program is divided into three routines and these routines are carried out in each of the processors 50, 52, 54, so that a processing burden is distributed, Further, the set of the same routines can be stored in each of the processors 50, 52, 54 to flexibly deal with a design change even if a design is changed.
