<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pigment dispersion liquid having small pH variation, excellent ejection stability and liquid stability and excellent color definition, a technology relating to a method for the production of a pigment-base ink for inkjet recording by using the pigment dispersion liquid, and provide a pigment dispersion liquid having small pH variation and excellent ejection stability, a pigment-base ink for inkjet recording, an ink set for inkjet recording, an ink cartridge, an inkjet printer, an image-forming method and a material having formed image. <P>SOLUTION: The method for the production of a pigment dispersion liquid for inkjet recording comprises dispersing a mixture at least containing a pigment, a dispersing agent and water.
