<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for improving a purification activity in a low-temperature region. <P>SOLUTION: The low-temperature active catalyst is composed of a carrier containing an oxygen absorbing and releasing material, a noble metal at least carried on the oxygen absorbing and releasing material, and a second metal which is easy to release an oxygen at least carried on the oxygen absorbing and supplying material for absorbing, from the noble metal. The noble metal and the second metal are constituted so as to be carried on adjacently each other, by which as the second metal functions at least as a diffusion accelerating phase, the low-temperature activity can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
