PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for molding a highly productive polygonal cup-shaped paper vessel as a secondary vessel made of a cardboard, without the necessity of using a costly mold or device of a complicated configuration, and a cup-shaped paper vessel. SOLUTION: In this method for molding the cup-shaped paper vessel of the invention shown by claim 1, the vessel is manufactured using a blank made of a cardboard and structured of a plurality of slender trapezoidal side boards 10 of the same shape connected in series and a bottom flap 12 and a small flap connected to each other on the upper side and a flange flap 15 connected in succession to the bottom side. The bottom side is sealed with the small flap and the bottom flap 12, and a flange part 21 is formed of the flange flap 15 and a flange ring.
