PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the reflection loss by a processed face in a reflective state of an optical switch or to decrease a transmission loss or cross talk in a transmissive state. SOLUTION: The optical switch is provided with a polymer film 2, a pressing plate 3 having a through hole for switching, and a driving means. The film 2 has cores 1a, 1b linearly running inside, and a notch groove 6 formed to intersect the switching position in the midway of the cores 1a, 1b. The film 2 is held by the press plate 3 to expose the switching position through the hole 31. The driving means aims to narrower or widen the gap of the notch groove 6 so as to select the optical path. The notch groove 6 is formed by first forming a start groove on the surface of the film 2 and pushing the switching position from the back side of the start groove by using a pressurizing member while the film 2 is held by the pressing plate 3 to produce cleavage.
