<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information exchanging system and an authentication method using an participant authentication type semantic information network where it is not necessary to provide any centralized managing part or authentication server for judging the validity/invalidity of the setting of a filter. <P>SOLUTION: A communication terminal 2 of a user 1 is provided with a self-attribute information DB showing his or her occupational position or qualification or the like and an attribute information DB of the other's attribute DB, and configured to transmit the self-attributes from the self-attribute DB as an event to a semantic information network, and requests the judgement of the validity/invalidity of the setting of a filter to the communication terminals of a plurality of participants 6 and 11. The communication terminal of the respective participants collates the received attribute information with the other's attribute information DB in the communication terminal of the pertinent participant, and returns the authentication of "validity" when those attributes are the same, and returns the authentication of "invalidity" when they are different.
