PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost speaker which ensures superior frequency characteristics, provides good sound quality, and can be miniaturized. SOLUTION: A sideways long rectangular diaphragm 1 is formed by being bent along its length.One end of the diaphragm 1 is half fixed and the other end is supported by an edge 6 to make it oscillatory. A driver is provided for driving the diaphragm 1 at a position shifted to the edge 6 from the backside center of the diaphragm 1 having a honeycomb structure. The driver is a moving magnet type driver 8 comprising a hammer 15 coupled with the diaphragm 1 and a voice coil 14. The hammer 15 is mounted on the top end of the coil 14, and the rear end of the coil 14 is disposed in the magnetic gap 13 of a magnetic circuit. A conductive butterfly damper 16 having a conduction line for connecting the outgoing line of the voice coil and an external lead wire 18 supports the voice coil 14. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
