PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication information conversion apparatus flexibly adaptive to a plurality of standardized protocols and a production information system using the same. SOLUTION: A communication information conversion apparatus 1 is constituted of a data collection part 9, a collected data designation document 10, an XML making part 11, an XML conversion part 12, an XSL document 13, an XML document 14, a communication application part 15, and a general control part 16. The production information system using the communication information conversion apparatus 1 is provided with a controller 2 for controlling production equipment and a host information computer having host information system application software which grasps a production plan and its progress and manages resources in an enterprise. The communication information conversion apparatus 1, the controller 2, and a higher-order information system computer 4 are connected by an internal bus, a serial line, a LAN, or the like.
