PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patent retrieval system which provides service within the organization of an enterprise etc. and can share many users' retrieval know how (search condition etc.). SOLUTION: Patent retrieval system 10 comprises a database 30 including a patent database 31, a retrieval server 20 which retrieving the database and a plurality of terminals 40 connected through LAN. The database is provided with a comment database 32 having a comment area corresponding to each patent document accumulated in the patent database. The retrieval server records the retrieval information in the corresponding comment area in retrieving the patent document when a user performs a prescribed operation to the patent document extracted according to the result of the user's retrieval.
