PURPOSE:To miniaturize an optical head by reflecting the luminous flux of light emitting, from a detection lens by separating it to plural beams with a detection prism, making the plural beams incident on a multi-division optical detector, and detecting a magneto-optical signal, a servo signal, and an address signal with the multidivision optical detector. CONSTITUTION:The detection prism 15 is formed by joining a first parallel plate 17 with a second parallel plate 18 on the oblique plane of a triangular prism 16, attaching polarizing film 19 on a first joining plane, attaching non- polarizing film 20 on a second joining plane, and furthermore, attaching reflecting film 21 on the second plane of the second parallel plate 18. The beams 23-25 reflected by separating with the detection prism 15 are made incident on the multidivision optical detector 27, and the magneto-optical signal, the servo signal, and the address signal are detected, respectively based on the combination of the output of photodetectors 27a-27h included in the optical detector 27. Thereby, the optical head can be miniaturized. |
