Band-like connecting element (B) for connecting a frame component, e.g. a window frame, to brickwork comprises an adhesive connection to the frame part and an adjoining flexible strip element having over a first partial region (I) of its width a band section (6) open to vapor diffusion. The connecting element is formed over a second partial region (II) of its width by a foil closed to vapor diffusion. An Independent claim is also included for a frame component, e.g. a window frame, with a band-like connecting element and a strip element. Preferred Features: The second partial region takes up more than half the width of the connecting element.
