<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which performs settings for a printing such as a layout for the printing and the number of the printing by wireless communication and suppresses consumption of electric power by an instrument of the transmitting side when printing data are printed by the wireless communication. <P>SOLUTION: A printer 2 and a digital camera 3 are connected with each other by the wireless communication. When the setting data for the printing such as the layout for the printing, the number of the printing, the kind of a printing paper and the quality of an image are transmitted to the printer 2, the connection of the wireless communication is once cut or is shifted to an electric power saving mode. The printer 2 performs a processing based on the setting data, and when the printing data for an object to be printed are required, the wireless communication is started again and the printing data are obtained from the digital camera 3.
