<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inexpensive piezoelectric porcelain composition exhibiting excellent characteristics by improving sinterability of a piezoelectric porcelain composition containing, as a main component, a ternary lead zirconate titanate expressed by the formula: [x-Pb(Sb<SB>1/2</SB>Nb<SB>1/2</SB>)O<SB>3</SB>]-[y-PbZrO<SB>3</SB>]-[z-PbTiO<SB>3</SB>]. <P>SOLUTION: It becomes possible to reduce the sintering temperature without causing lowering of characteristics by controlling the ratio of three components constituting the main component and appropriately adding at least either Bi<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>or V<SB>2</SB>O<SB>5</SB>as an additive. Or, it becomes possible to further improve the sinterability by utilizing a method enabling a raw material powder used for sintering to have a higher specific surface area, in combination with the above means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
