<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing method for a workpiece, which can increase the number of the printed workpieces per unit time. <P>SOLUTION: A position of a front end of the workpiece 1, which is conveyed by a conveyance means to be driven at a prescribed speed, is detected by a workpiece position detecting means. Concurrently with that, a rotational angle of a circumferential prescribed place on a printing roll 2 in detection with respect to a reference line is detected by a rotational angle detecting means. In accordance with the position of the front end of the workpiece 1 and the rotational angle of the prescribed place on the printing roll 2, which are concurrently detected, and the prescribed speed of the conveyance means, the rotational speed of the printing roll 2 is controlled by a control part so that the prescribed place on the printing roll 2 can be aligned with the front end of the workpiece 1 when the front end of the workpiece 1 reaches the printing roll 2.
