PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing method and a data processing apparatus for verifying forgery with high accuracy even when verification object data are subjected to magnification / reduction processing by managing electronic signature data without embedding the data to the verification object data. SOLUTION: According to a configuration 100a at a signature generation side, electronic signature data at the signature generation side are generated and image correction information is generated, and an electronic signature management table 103a including an image ID, the electronic signature data, and the image correction information is stored. According to a configuration 100b at a signature verification side, the image correction information and the electronic signature data at the signature generation side corresponding to a data ID are acquired from the electronic signature management table 103a, the verification object data are corrected by using the acquired image correction information, electronic signature data at the signature verification side are generated on the basis of the verification object data, the electronic signature data at the signature generation side are compared with the electronic signature data at the signature verification side, and the presence / no presence of the forgery is discriminated on the basis of a result of comparison.
