PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable chip type common mode choke coil for preventing the the deterioration of a breakdown voltage or the failure of insulation or the generation of short-circuit when a coil terminal is drawn near to or brought into contact with an adjacent electrode. SOLUTION: This chip type common mode choke coil is configured of a winding core section, flange sections where a plurality of leg-shaped electrode sections are formed with predetermined intervals through the winding core section, wherein coils are wound around the winding core section, and the winding start edge and winding end edge are connected to the predetermined electrode sections. In this case, recessed sections are formed on the both side faces of the winding core section with its longitudinal direction as an axis, and the recessed sections are shifted in the longitudinal direction so as to be made unsymmetrical to each other.
