PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an element having a simpler structure than an element using a conventional PTC element and having a characteristic that it stably operates at a specified temperature. SOLUTION: The PTC element has the structure where a member formed of a composite in which (C) 1-1,000 weights of conductive powder are dispersed in (B) 100 weights of crystalline polymer, and (D) a member formed of a conductive material are sandwiched between (A) a pair of electrodes. Electric resistance between a pair of electrodes is fluctuated within a transition temperature range since crystalline polymer changes in a solid state and a volume expansion coefficient in the transition temperature range exceeds a thermal expansion coefficient other than the transition temperature range.
