PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium, by which the erase of a signal recorded by a recording head at the time of the recording of adjacent recording tracks is prevented, that is, to provide a magnetic recording medium being robust in its fringe. SOLUTION: A guard band region having the magnetization in the direction taking an angle≥30°with respect to the magnetic recording surface is formed by using a perpendicular magnetic recording head between the adjacent recording tracks on the magnetic recording surface of the magnetic recording medium.
