PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a trigger circuit for performing not only coincidence detection comparison but size comparison by converting pattern data into numeric values and outputting trigger signals by specifying the range of numeric values. SOLUTION: This trigger circuit, used in a waveform measuring instrument for recording measurement data in a memory when triggering takes place and processing the recorded measurement data into waveform data for display, is characterized by being provided with an analog comparator for digitizing an inputted analog voltage, a numeric value converter for converting a digital pattern outputted by the analog comparator into numbers, a digital comparator for comparing a set value with a numeric value converted by and outputted from the value converter, and a trigger generator for outputting a trigger signal based on a comparison result of the digital comparator.
