PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toaster for preventing the trace of wire materials of a grill around a pattern. SOLUTION: The toaster comprises upper and lower heaters 4, 5 provided one or more each in a heating chamber 1, the grill 3 located between the upper and lower heaters 4, 5, and a pattern plate turnably held on the upper side of the grill 3 for shielding radiation heat from the upper heater and giving a partially non-toasting pattern onto the upper face of a bread.
