PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and inexpensive bookbinding device which can easily be handled and ensures successful finish. SOLUTION: This bookbinding device comprises a flat depositing part 2 which fits a book material to be bound for spine wrapping; a spine wrapping part 3, which is of an L shape and arranges the spine part of the book material to be bound in the way that the part 3 is pivotally fitted to the depositing part 2 using the apex of a right angle part of the L shape as a supporting point; a resilient part 7 with one end fixed to the depositing part 2 and the other end fixed to the spine wrapping part 3; and a flat plate-like pressurizing part 4 which comes into contact with a spine wrapping material to be attached to the spine part of the book material to be bound and pressurizes the spine wrapping material.
