<p>Multifunction photovoltaic device with shadow-free independent cells (20-23) includes cell contact pick-ups provided on the front and/or rear surface of the device by means of metallized wells (24). The sides of the wells are insulated from the materials forming different semiconducting layers. Preferred Features: Metallized current collector lines emerging from the metallized wells and located on the front surface are of triangular cross-section (29). The metallized wells (24) are produced from aluminum, and their sides are insulated from materials forming the different semiconducting layers by deposition of insulating material (25) comprising an oxide or a nitride. Independent claims are given for a process for: (a) production of the multifunction photovoltaic device; and (b) utilization of the multifunction photovoltaic device in a concentration cell.</p> |
