The present invention refers to a method for assessing the insulation condition of ducts, which is characterized in that it comprises: a measuring and interpretation process of the electromagnetic field for assessing current variations per unit length by measuring profiles, the assessment of current and voltage propagation coefficients according to measurements along the duct, the reconstruction of voltage values along the duct as well as the leakage resistance calculation, the aforementioned is useful for identifying and delimiting the damaged zone in the duct, thereby achieving the performance assessment of the cathodic protection systems.
