The invention concerns an object comprising a glass substrate and a silver coating associated with a compound comprising at least a -SH radical which can be trimethylolpropanetris(3-mercaptopropionate). A palladium layer can be interposed between the substrate and the silver coating. The compound comprising at least a -SH radical protects the silver coating against corrosion and enhances adhesion of a subsequent outer paint layer, in particular of alkyd type.
