A method for the inhibition or reversal of the spread of a non wild-type genetic trait in a non-human population capable of sexual reproduction, the method comprising introducing sexually compatible individuals substantially homozygous for a wild-type counterpart of the trait into the population. The individuals released into the target population may also carry a dominant lethal trait, or trait which results in reduced average fitness in at least one subsequent generation, said fitness preferably not being zero for the F1 generation. |
