Apparatus (10) to generate steam for an electric household appliance comprising a boiler (12) formed by a lower half-shell (18), having a base wall (35) arranged substantially horizontal during use, and by an upper half-shell (16) coupled with the lower half-shell (18) so as to form a water containing tank, and heating members (20) arranged inside and in contact with the lower half-shell (18) and to heat the water contained inside the boiler (12) in order to transform it into steam. The lower half-shell (18) is made of aluminum and the upper half-shell (16) is made of steel.
