An automobile has a trunk or a hatch hinged to the bodywork and facilitating access to the luggage area. The hinge (10) has an upper section (11) fixed to the bodywork and a lower section (12) fixed to the hatch. The upper and lower parts are linked by a profiled rubber hinge block (13). The rubber hinge has a screen preventing a view of the rubber from outside the vehicle bodywork.
