MULTI-ENVELOPE VACCINES AGAINST HIV, METHOD FOR GENERATING CELLULAR AND/OR HUMORAL IMMUNE RESPONSE AGAINST HIV IN MAMMALS, BIFUNCTIONAL PLASMID USED FOR PRODUCING RECOMBINANT VIRUSES COMPRISING ANTI-HIV VACCINE

The multi-envelope vaccines containing from 4 to 10000 various recombinant viruses expressing particular variants of env protein of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) including both variable and constant regions of the envelope have been proposed. The vaccine is capable to evoke at least one cellular or humoral immune reaction against HIV. The method for generating cellular and/or humoral immune response against HIV has been described. The bifunctional plasmid used for producing recombinant viruses comprising the vaccine contains the xenogenic gene coding for the variant of HIV envelope protein. The gene expression is under control of the sequences of two types, namely the sequence of the pre-early promoter of cytomegalovirus and the sequence of the early promoter of cowpox virus and/or the late promoter of cowpox virus.
