PURPOSE: A variable valve lift device of an engine is provided to secure optimal intake/exhaust conditions in a whole operation area of the engine by increasing automatically the valve lift degree as the operation condition of the engine is changed from low speed to high speed. CONSTITUTION: A variable valve lift device of an engine is composed of a piston(1) mounted at the end of a valve stem; a tappet housing(3) installed to move in the longitudinal direction of the valve stem for the piston; and an oil supply pipe line(5) arranged between the piston and the tappet housing to supply the oil pressure increased according to the speed of the engine. Movement stroke of the tappet housing is set from between a nose and a basic circle of a cam(7) and a basic circle of the cam.
