PURPOSE: A portable communication terminal having an emergency call mode is provided to automatically activate a call circuit to a call enable state according to a predetermined control signal of a microcomputer without operating a call start button, when a call signal is received from an originator's communication terminal. CONSTITUTION: When a call signal is received from an originator's communication terminal, a call circuit(110) is automatically activated to a call enable state according to a predetermined control signal of a microcomputer(200) without operating a call start button(132). The call start button(132) is included in a keypad(130). An emergency call mode is automatically activated to the call enable state according to the control signal of the microcomputer(200). A general call mode is activated for the call circuit(110) by operating the call start button(132) of a receiver after originating a ring signal.
