PURPOSE: A monitor control unit for vehicle AV(Audio and Visual) system to express an image and a control function to a monitor is provided to perform various kinds of control operations and enhance a degree of freedom of a display by using a video overlay board. CONSTITUTION: A monitor(34,35) is installed at a dashboard or a console box in order to display video signals of a TV, a navigation system, a DVD player, and an RVC device according to an input of a control key. A video processor(25) is installed at a local bus of a CPU in order to perform a control operation for displaying the video signals according to a control signal of the CPU. A keyboard(27,28) is used for selecting a video function and a control function. A video overlay board(30) is used for outputting the video signals to a monitor switching and muxing the video signals according to a key signal of the keyboard. An MCU(29) is used for controlling the video overlay board according to the key signal of the keyboard.
